Marc George III ID’d as Teen Killed in San Diego Crash on Genesee Avenue
San Diego, California (March 21, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the boy who was killed Friday night in a car crash in San Diego as Marc Anthony George III, 17, of San Diego.
The fatal crash happened at about 10:58 p.m. Friday, March 19, in the 2700 block of Genesee Avenue.
The police said a 2010 Toyota Camry and a 2008 Nissan Altima were traveling westbound on Genesee Avenue at a high rate of speed when the Toyota drifted to the left and sideswiped the Nissan.
The Toyota then collided head-on with a 2020 Mazda that was heading eastbound.
The two vehicles were extensively damaged, and the firefighters had to extricate the occupants from the wreckage.
Deadly Crash on Genesee Avenue in San Diego
George III, who was the driver of the Toyota, was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where he was declared dead at around 12:58 a.m. Two passengers in the Toyota were hospitalized with major injuries.
The Mazda driver, a 21-year-old woman, and her two passengers were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Nissan driver and two passengers only complained of pain.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
