San Diego, California (March 21, 2021)The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman who was killed Friday night in a head-on collision in San Diego as Haley Kaede Takeda, 21, of San Mateo.

The deadly crash happened at about 10:58 p.m. Friday, March 19, at the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Osler Street.

Police said a vehicle was heading westbound on Genesee Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and collided head-on with another vehicle that was heading eastbound, driven by Takeda.

Takeda was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The San Diego Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
