Bakersfield, California (March 18, 2021) – A man was killed and two other people were injured early Wednesday morning in a traffic accident in Bakersfield, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash occurred at about 2:31 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, near the intersection of Panama Lane and Stine Road, authorities said.

According to the authorities, one vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and overturned.

As a result of the crash, the driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The man driving the second vehicle and his passenger were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

It is undetermined whether intoxication played a role in the crash.
