25-Year-Old Aptos Woman Killed in Santa Cruz County Pedestrian Crash on Freedom Boulevard

Santa Cruz County, California (March 10, 2021) – A 25-year-old Aptos woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon in Santa Cruz County.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about 2:00 p.m., on March 9, on Freedom Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Volvo XC went off the roadway and hit the woman who was on the south shoulder. The Volvo then flipped over onto the shoulder.

Sadly, the female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
