20-Year-Old Stockton Man Dies in Newman Crash on Stuhr Road near Jorgensen Road

Newman, California (March 9, 2021) – A Stockton man was killed in a car crash late Sunday night in Newman, Stanislaus County.
The deadly crash happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, on Stuhr Road, just west of Jorgensen Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, a 20-year-old Stockton man was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion westbound on Stuhr Road at an unknown speed when, for unknown reasons, the Ford veered into dirt shoulder and crashed into an embankment.
The Ford rolled over after the impact. As the Ford was overturning, the driver was ejected onto the eastbound lane, where an oncoming 2015 Hyundai Elantra hit him.
Deadly Car Accident on Stuhr Road in Newman
The driver of the Ford was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The Elantra driver, a 50-year-old Newman resident, was uninjured and remained at the scene after the accident. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
