Copperopolis, California (July 31, 2020) – Several people were injured in a head-on collision in Copperopolis, Tuolumne County, on Thursday evening.

According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 4:05 p.m. on North Fork Road, south of State Route 108.

20-year-old Kayla Marie Dickerson-Childres of Merced was driving a 2012 Toyota Yaris southbound on North Folk Road when he drifted across the solid yellow lines and collided head-on with a 2007 Dodge Ram driven by 58-year-old Brian Edward Finigan.

Finigan and his three passengers were unhurt. The three were 27-year-old Tanner Nichols, 23-year-old Alejandro Ramirez and 39-year-old Gilberto Jaime Nolasco.

Dickerson-Childres was wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries in the crash.

33-year-old Melissa Ann McCullough and 25-year-old Donte Rashawn Turner, who were riding in the Toyota Yaris, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Adventist Health Sonora.

2-year-old Abel William McCullough, who was a passenger in the Toyota, sustained major injuries in the accident and was flown to Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
