Byron Banks ID’d as 57-Year-Old Long Beach Man Killed in Willowbrook Crash at El Segundo Boulevard and Aviation Boulevard

Willowbrook, California (March 6, 2021) – Byron Banks, 57, of Long Beach, has been identified as the man who was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Thursday evening in Willowbrook, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 5:10 p.m., on March 4, at the intersection of El Segundo Boulevard and Aviation Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Honda, driven by Banks, was headed southbound on Avalon Boulevard at an unsafe speed when it rear-ended a 2015 Toyota. The Toyota was stopped for a traffic light at the intersection at the time.
The crash impact pushed the Toyota crashing into a 2004 Nissan at the intersection, then continued into a gas station parking lot where it struck an unoccupied vehicle, the officials said.

Banks was injured in the accident and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
