2 Hospitalized after Piru Crash on Highway 126 near Center Street
Piru, California (March 1, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a Piru crash that left two people hurt and a horse dead Sunday night.
The CHP said the major injury accident occurred on Highway 126 near Center Street just after 8:30 p.m.
As per the report, a horse was hit while running in the center lanes of the roadway on February 28. Officials affirmed three vehicles were involved in the wreck.
Due to the impact, one victim was pinned in one of the automobiles and had to be rescued.
Highway 126 Collision Injures 2 Victims
The extricated party was hospitalized at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with critical injures.
A second victim survived with minor injuries while the horse died at the crash site.
Meanwhile, the mishap resulted in the closure of the highway in both directions for an unknown time.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
