Woman Injured in Sorrento Valley Hit-and-Run Accident at Carroll Canyon Road and Scranton Road

San Diego, California (February 23, 2021) – Liam Patrick O’Connor, 23, was arrested after a traffic crash that left a woman seriously injured early this month in Sorrento Valley, authorities said.
The accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, February 13, in the area of Carroll Canyon Road and Scranton Road.
O’Connor was doing doughnuts during an illegal street drifting contest near a crowd when he lost control of his spinning vehicle and hit one of the spectators.
The victim, only identified as a 25-year-old woman, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
O’Connor did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was described as a green 1991 Lexus.
On Sunday, February 21, O’Connor was located at home in University City. He was ultimately arrested and booked into custody on suspicion of felony hit and run and reckless driving.
