Larry Voit ID’d as Pilot Killed in Los Angeles Plane Crash on South Navy Way

Los Angeles, California (February 20, 2021) – Larry Edward Voit has been identified as the male pilot who was killed in a Friday morning plane accident that left one other man seriously injured in Los Angeles, according to the coroner’s office.
The deadly accident occurred at about noon on February 19, in the 2500 block of South Navy Way.
According to the officials, a single-engine Piper PA-32 plane, operated by Voit, crashed into a cargo container yard at the Port of Los Angeles. The plane struck a tractor-trailer on its way down.

Bystanders reportedly pulled the Voit from the wreckage and provided CPR under a 911 dispatcher’s direction until paramedics arrived. Sadly, Voit was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man about 30-years-old was rescued from the semi-tractor trailer and taken to a hospital with major injuries.
The crash will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Authority and the National Transportation Safety Board.
