Pedestrian Killed in San Francisco Hit-and-Run Accident on Bay Bridge near 5th Street

San Francisco, California (February 17, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed late Tuesday night in a hit-and-run accident in San Francisco, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash was reported at around 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, February 16 on Bay Bridge near 5th Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said the man was walking in the right-hand eastbound lanes on Bay Bridge. He then entered the left-hand lane and was hit by at least one vehicle.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures on the man, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
At least one vehicle reportedly fled the scene after the accident. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or the driver.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
The No. 1 and No. 2 lanes on the bridge were closed while the authorities conduct an investigation. As of early Wednesday, all lanes were reopened.
