Calexico, CA: Pedestrian Struck and Seriously Hurt by Hit-and-Run Driver on Clark Road

Calexico, California (February 17, 2021) – A 32-year-old Yuma man was struck and seriously injured by an alleged hit-and-run driver on a highway in Calexico Friday last week.

On February 12, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officials received a crash report involving a pedestrian and a vehicle along Clark Road north of Highway 98.

A vehicle of unspecified make and built hit the man while walking southbound on the highway at night hours.

Major Injury Calexico Pedestrian Collision

The unidentified pedestrian was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment of major blunt-force trauma injuries.

The involved motorist, a female party, fled the scene without rendering aid to the patient. The driver later called the police and told them she did not know what she hit on the roadway.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
