3 Injured in Costa Mesa Car Crash at Newport Boulevard and Fair Drive
Costa Mesa, California (February 17, 2021) – Three people were injured in a traffic collision involving an ambulance in Costa Mesa on Tuesday afternoon, February 16.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident at about midday in the area of Newport Boulevard and Fair Drive.
A private ambulance with activated lights and a siren was traveling on the roadway when it collided with another vehicle at the intersection.
The ambulance had been transporting a critical patient to an area hospital when the accident happened.
Costa Mesa Firefighters arrived at the scene and transported the patient to the hospital.
Two other occupants of the ambulance and the driver of the other vehicle were injured in the accident and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
