Aristeo Castro Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 180 near Sonoma Avenue in Fresno
Mendota, California (February 16, 2021) – 73-year-old Aristeo Castro has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner as the man who was killed in a head-on collision near Mendota on Monday morning.
The deadly collision happened at about 11:15 a.m. February 15, on Highway 180 near Sonoma Avenue, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The authorities believe a Ford truck developed some form of mechanical damage on the roadway and collided head-on with a Honda Civic.
Castro, the grandfather of Mendota Mayor Rolando Castro, who was driving the Honda, was killed in the accident.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation to establish the cause of the accident is ongoing.
