Man Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Edison Highway near Chamberlain Avenue

Bakersfield, California (February 12, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night in east Bakersfield, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident occurred at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, February 11, on Edison Highway, just east of Chamberlain Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian, a 60-year-old man, was hit by a red Toyota Tacoma that was heading eastbound on Edison Highway.

The man, whose name was withheld pending notification of his relatives, died in the accident.
The Tacoma driver stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
The CHP said the area was dark.
The accident remains under investigation.
