Turlock, California (February 8, 2021) – An elderly man was killed when a train crashed into a car Monday afternoon in Turlock, according to a local news source.

The fatal accident occurred a little after 1:45 p.m. at the Monte Vista and Golden State railroad crossing, authorities reported.

According to the authorities, an 81-year-old man was driving a blue Subaru on Golden State when he tried to turn onto Monte Vista through the railroad crossing and was struck by an oncoming train.

Deadly Train Accident in Turlock

The driver of the Subaru, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities said all train crossing signals, warning lights and crossing arms were working properly when the accident happened.
