Erik Shaw ID’d as Man Killed in Ventura County Car Crash on Foothill Road near N. Saticoy Avenue
Ventura County, California (February 7, 2021) – The man who died following a head-on crash Friday afternoon in east Ventura has been identified as Erik Shaw, 62, of Santa Paula.
The deadly accident, which was reported at about 1:36 p.m. Friday, February 5, happened on Foothill Road, just east of N. Saticoy Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old Wilmington man was driving a 2008 Toyota Highlander westbound on Foothill Road when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the Toyota to drift into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an eastbound 1992 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Shaw.

Shaw was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, authorities said.
The Toyota driver suffered major injuries and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center.
It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
