1 Person Killed in San Jose Bicycle Accident at South 1st Street and Reed Street

San Jose, California (January 31, 2021) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Sunday morning in San Jose, authorities said.
The deadly hit-and-run bicycle accident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of South 1st Street and Reed Street.
According to the police, the bicyclist was struck by a vehicle that was driving the wrong way in southbound lanes of the street.

Sadly, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved driver fled the scene and is being sought by the police. The vehicle was a newer dark blue or black Chevrolet Silverado truck with a cover over its bed and should have front-end damage.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
