Bakersfield, California (January 29, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver Thursday evening in Bakersfield, according to a local news source.

The accident happened just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 28, in the 1701 block of Flower Street near the Kern Medical, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the CHP, the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Flower Street for undetermined reasons.

Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the injured pedestrian. The name and condition of the patient were not immediately disclosed.

The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene after the crash. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or the driver.

Police are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
