Fresno, California (January 27, 2021) – Ricardo Simpson, 34, of Fresno, has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as the motorcyclist who died following a Tuesday evening traffic accident in central Fresno.

The deadly crash occurred at about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, on Ashlan Avenue near Cedar Avenue.

According to the authorities, Simpson was riding his motorcycle westbound on Ashlan Avenue when he was struck by a truck that was attempting to make a northbound turn into a shopping center.

Deadly Fresno Motorcycle Accident on East Ashlan Avenue

Simpson was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The operator of the truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

Westbound Ashlan Avenue was shut down for two hours while the investigation took place.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
