Man Hospitalized after Santa Barbara Bicycle Accident on West Carillo Street near Chino Street
Santa Barbara, California (January 22, 2021) – A bicyclist was struck and injured by a vehicle Thursday evening in Santa Barbara, according to a local news source.
At about 6:50 p.m. Thursday, January 21, emergency personnel responded to the crash on West Carillo Street near Chino Street.
Authorities said a man was riding his bicycle northbound across Carillo Street when a vehicle traveling up the hill struck him.
First responders arrived at the scene and found the injured bicyclist. The man was then transported to Cottage Hospital in an unknown condition.
Investigators said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the accident.
Police closed Carrillo Street at Vista Del Pueblo and San Andres Street for about 20 minutes during the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
