Bicyclist Killed in Merced Accident at 16th Street and G Street; Juan Vega Arrested
Merced, California (January 21, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Monday evening hit-and-run crash that killed a male bicyclist in Merced.
The deadly crash took place at the intersection of 16th and G streets at approximately 7:30 p.m. on January 18.
According to the officials, the man was riding his bicycle near the intersection when a vehicle, driven by Juan Vega, 38, struck him.
As a result of the crash impact, the male bicyclist was reportedly ejected from the bike into the 1600 block of G Street,

Sadly, the bicyclist sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
Vega fled the scene but was later arrested on Wednesday. He faces hit-and-run charges.
The crash remains under investigation.
