Mendocino County, California (January 19, 2021) – A woman was killed in a rollover accident on Friday morning in northern Mendocino County, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 9:00 a.m., on January 15, on Highway 101, just north of Bridges Creek.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by the woman, was headed southbound on the highway when it lost control and overturned several times before coming to rest in the roadway.

As a result of the collision, the female driver was ejected onto the roadway. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the mishap.

The crash remains under investigation.
