Humza Zahoor Arrested after Crash That Killed Passenger in San Francisco

San Francisco, California (January 19, 2021) – Humza Zahoor, 20, was arrested after a police chase ended in a traffic accident that killed his passenger in San Francisco.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, the California Highway Patrol officials responded to a report of a sideshow involving fifteen dirt bikes approaching the Bay Bridge.

When the CHP officers came across the bikes in the eastbound lanes of the Bay Bridge, the riders allegedly turned around and began heading in the wrong direction.

The riders reportedly exited at the Sterling Street and Fourth Street off-ramps and then traversed downtown San Francisco.

The riders then re-entered the bridge the wrong way on the Fremont Street on-ramp and traveled eastbound on the westbound Bay Bridge’s upper deck. Christopher Lee, 20, of Beaumont, Texas, who was among the group of dirt bike riders, crashed his bike near the Treasure Island ramp.

Zahoor then picked up Lee. As the CHP officers pursued the two, Zahoor slammed into a median wall as they tried to escape from officers.

Due to the impact, Lee was ejected onto the roadway and was struck by a pickup truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Zahoor was treated for his injuries before being arrested by police.  He was eventually booked into the San Francisco County jail on suspicion of murder, among other charges.

No further details about the accident were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
