2 Injured after Police Pursuit Ended in Crash on East Miner Avenue in Stockton

Stockton, California (January 19, 2021) – A Stockton Police Department officer and a civilian were injured after a pursuit ended in a crash in Stockton on Monday evening.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the 1200 block of East Miner Avenue around 6:30 p.m. January 18.

The officers had attempted to pull over a motorist. The motorist failed to yield and fled before crashing into a power pole at the intersection of North Pilgrim Street and East Miner Avenue.

A police cruiser involved in the chase also crashed into a home in the area.

The officer and one person inside the home were injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

The suspect was found in possession of a gun and was taken into custody.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
