1 Person Killed in Somis Crash at Donlon Road and La Cumbre Road
Somis, California (January 14, 2021) – One person was killed in a fiery single-vehicle accident Thursday morning in the Somis area north of Camarillo, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened at about 1:43 a.m. at the intersection of Donlon Road and La Cumbre Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling northbound on Donlon Road when it allegedly failed to stop for the stop sign at La Cumbre Road and continued through the “T” intersection.
Unfortunately, the vehicle crashed into a tree north of the roadway and burst into flames, which spread to nearby trees, the officials said.

The driver, who was trapped in the burning vehicle, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. The driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
