Woman Dies, Man Hospitalized after Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Oswell Street
Bakersfield, California (January 10, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday morning traffic accident that killed a female pedestrian and left a man injured in Northeast Bakersfield.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 11:27 a.m., on January 9, in a parking lot in the 2800 block of Oswell Street.
According to the authorities, a pickup truck driver was attempting a parking maneuver when his vehicle drove onto the sidewalk and struck the two pedestrians.

The female pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The man who was walking with the woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Drugs or speed were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
