Mondos, California (January 9, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday afternoon traffic accident that left a 62-year-old male pedestrian seriously injured in Mondos.

The major injury pedestrian accident happened shortly after 12:30 p.m., on January 8, on Pacific Coast Highway near Mondos Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2012 Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 48-year-old Santa Paula man, was headed southbound on the highway when it struck the 62-year-old man from Bakersfield.

Pedestrian Injured in Crash on Pacific Coast Highway

The 62-year-old Bakersfield man sustained major injuries and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition.

The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials. He was taken to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries.
