Fresno, California (December 29, 2020) – Allison Chang, 17, of Fresno, and three other people were killed Saturday night in a traffic accident suspected to have been caused by street racing Saturday night in northwest Fresno.

The deadly accident occurred at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday, December 26, at the intersection of Bullard Avenue and Palm Avenue, according to the police.

Police said a black Mustang, driven by Irvin Villarreal, 18, and a Camaro were racing down Blackstone Avenue near Bullard Avenue in excess of 75 mph when a motorcycle officer attempted to pull over the vehicles.

The Camaro driver stopped, but Villarreal failed to stop and sped off at a high rate of speed. The officer tried to follow Villarreal but lost track of him after he turned onto Bullard Avenue.

Moments later, Villarreal ran a red light at the intersection of Bullard Avenue and Palm Avenue and collided with a white pickup truck and a Mini Cooper. Authorities said the Mustang was traveling at least 100 mph prior to the crash.

Three people in the pickup truck, Christopher Vang, 27, Linda Chang, 21, and her cousin, Allison Chang, all from Fresno, were killed in the crash. Villarreal also died in the accident.

Two other people in the pickup truck and the driver of the Mini Cooper were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

A GoFundMe account has been established to help the families.

The crash remains under investigation.
