54-Year-Old Woman Killed in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5 near Richards Boulevard

Sacramento, California (December 26, 2020) – A woman died after being struck by two vehicles while walking across the road Wednesday night in Sacramento, according to a local news source.
At about 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, emergency personnel responded to the northbound Interstate 5, just north of Richards Boulevard, for a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 54-year-old Sacramento woman was walking within the No. 4 and 5 lanes of northbound Interstate 5 when a car hit him.
The woman fell onto the roadway between the lanes and was then struck by a Freightliner truck.

The woman was declared dead at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The truck operator, a 68-year-old, stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
