80-Year-Old Albert Tonetti Sustains Major Injuries in Fatal Angels Camp Car Accident on Vallecito Road near Highway 4
Albert Tonetti Hospitalized after Fatal Angels Camp 2-Vehicle Crash on Vallecito Road near Highway 4

Angels Camp, California (December 22, 2020) – Authorities have identified 80-year-old Albert Tonetti as the Murphys victim who sustained major injuries following a fatal head-on crash in Angels Camp Friday morning, December 18.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the fatal crash site in the morning hours, on Vallecito Road, south of Highway 4.
The accident happened when a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire driven by 85-year-old Betty Zimmerman crossed over a solid double-yellow line for undetermined reasons.
The Pontiac then crashed head-on into a 1972 Chevrolet C10 truck operated by Tonetti in the process.
Angels Camp Car Collision on Vallecito Road Seriously Injures Albert Tonetti
Zimmerman, a Murphys resident, was declared dead at the scene.
Tonetti was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of major injuries.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were considered factors in the wreck.
The deadly accident remains under an active investigation.
