Orange, California (December 18, 2020) –A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Orange, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 16 on Taft Avenue near Leslie Way.
As per the report, a man was riding a gas-powered bike eastbound on Taft Avenue in the bicycle lane when he collided with a semi-trailer that was making a turn from Taft Avenue onto Leslie Way.
The bicyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
The operator of the truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with police. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
