San Leandro Accident near Washington Avenue and Chapman Road Kills One Person
San Leandro, California (December 11, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the cause of a fatal pedestrian accident that took place at an intersection in San Leandro Thursday afternoon.
Officials responded to the deadly crash site near Washington Avenue and Chapman Road at about 2:23 p.m. December 10.
An individual was reportedly struck by Amtrak’s southbound Capitol Corridor No. 537 train on the tracks under unclear circumstances.
Police said the train was heading to San Jose from Sacramento at the time of the crash.
Fatal San Leandro Pedestrian Accident Tuesday Night
Sadly, the unidentified victim died in the accident.
Meanwhile, there was a delay of at least one other Amtrak Capitol Corridor train as a result of the collision.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
