Modesto, CA: Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash at Claribel and Langworth Roads

Modesto, California (December 6, 2020) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Saturday night that left six other people injured in Modesto, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 10:12 p.m., on December 5, at the intersection of Claribel Road and Langworth Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Nicolas Villela, 19, had multiple passengers without seatbelts on and was driving at a high rate of speed when it went through a stop sign and crashed into another car.

First responders arrived at the scene and found one trapped inside one of the vehicles, the officials said.

A total of seven people were involved in the accident. Sadly, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other six were hospitalized with varying injuries.

Villela was arrested for felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter by CHP.

The crash remains under investigation.
