Oakland, California (December 4, 2020) – A man was killed Thursday afternoon in a traffic accident involving several vehicles in Oakland, according to a local news source.

The deadly multi-vehicle crash occurred at around 2:56 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at the intersection of Fairfax and Monticello avenues.

Authorities said a man was driving his vehicle on the roadway when, for unknown reasons, it collided with another vehicle at the intersection.

The man’s vehicle then slammed into parked cars and struck a power pole before it flipped over.

Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash at Fairfax and Monticello Avenues in Oakland

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated the man who was trapped in the wreckage. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel. His name was withheld pending notification of family.

It remains unclear whether anyone else was hurt in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
