Jackson Allender ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Long Beach Hit-and-Run Accident near Pacific Coast Highway and Lewis Avenue

Long Beach, California (December 3, 2020) – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday night in Long Beach as Jackson Allender, 32, of Long Beach.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, near Pacific Coast Highway and Lewis Avenue.
According to the authorities, a 2003 Mercury sedan was heading eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway when it crashed into a parked vehicle. It then hit Allender, who was trying to walk across the street.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Long Beach
Allender was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Mercury did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The driver, Joshua Lemusu, 30, of Long Beach, was later located and arrested.
Lemusu was booked into custody on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and hit-and-run causing bodily injuries. His bail was set at $100,000.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
