Buakhay Douangaphay ID’d as 64-Year-Old Woman Killed in Gerber Car Crash on Interstate 5 near Tehama Avenue
Gerber, California (December 3, 2020) – Buakhay Douangaphay, 64, of Weed, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a suspected DUI crash on Tuesday night in Gerber, according to the Tehama County Coroner’s Office.
The deadly two-vehicle accident happened at about 11:40 p.m., on December 2, on Interstate 5 near Tehama Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Mohammad Khesrawi, 52, of Lathrop, was traveling northbound on the roadway when it rear-ended a 2009 Subaru Forester.
As a result of the crash impact, the Subaru, driven by Ea Douangaphay, 40, of Weed, that was also headed northbound on the freeway, went off the roadway and overturned, the officials said.

Buakhay Douangaphay, who was a passenger in the Subaru, was ejected onto the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ting Leutmixay, 5, of Weed, sustained major injuries, including a broken arm and leg. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital for treatment.
Both Ea Douangaphay and Leutmixay were reportedly wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Khesrawi suffered minor injuries in the accident. CHP arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The crash remains under investigation.
