One Hurt in Eureka Pedestrian Accident on West Henderson and Fairfield Streets
Eureka, California (December 2, 2020) – One person was hospitalized after being involved in a pedestrian accident at an intersection in Eureka Tuesday afternoon.
At about 3:30 p.m., December 1, officials received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian in a wheelchair and a blue Chevy pickup in the area of West Henderson and Fairfield streets.
The pickup reportedly struck the victim while crossing the street outside of the crosswalk.
The involved motorist told authorities that the sun was in her eyes at the time of the collision.
Eureka Pedestrian Crash Results in Injuries
Paramedics rushed the unidentified person to an area hospital for treatment of a head injury.
The wreck resulted in the closure of the intersection for an unknown time.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
