Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 55 Freeway near 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa
Costa Mesa, California (November 26, 2020) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday morning in Costa Mesa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Costa Mesa (55) Freeway near the San Diego (405) Freeway at about 3:20 a.m.
A man was reportedly struck by a white Ford Fusion on the right shoulder of the freeway.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the man was not immediately disclosed.
The authorities closed the No 3, 4 and 5 northbound lanes of the freeway.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
