Palmdale, California (November 24, 2020) – A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer critically injured Monday night in a traffic accident at an intersection in Palmdale, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision happened at around 7:15 p.m. Monday, November 23, near the intersection of 32nd Street West and West Avenue N 3.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the officer was riding a motorcycle behind a pickup truck when the truck failed to turn into a driveway.
The truck driver then tried to make a U-turn and was hit by the officer.
CHP Officer Injured in Crash in Palmdale
The officer sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The name of the patient was not disclosed.
The operator of the truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The accident remains under investigation.
