Man Injured in East County Pedestrian Crash on Grandview Drive
Pedestrian Hit and Injured by Vehicle on Grandview Drive in East County, San Diego

East County, California (November 19, 2020) – A man was seriously injured after being struck by a car in the Mount Helix area of San Diego on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 7 a.m. on Grandview Drive.
A Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on the roadway when the female driver lost control, drifted off to the right shoulder and struck a pedestrian who was walking on the shoulder,
The vehicle then spun and crashed into an embankment.
The man suffered major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver told the police that the sun got into her eyes while driving.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
