Juan Miranda Struck, Killed by Vehicle on 14 Freeway in Acton
Juan Miranda ID’d as Man Killed in Acton Pedestrian Accident on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road
Acton, California (November 17, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday morning in Acton as Juan Hernandez Miranda, 19, of Newhall.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 4:29 a.m. Sunday, November 15, on the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road.
A gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was reported to have overturned in the fast lane of the freeway in unclear circumstances.
Miranda, who was standing at the scene after the collision, was struck by another vehicle.
Miranda was pronounced dead at the scene.
All the southbound lanes of the freeway at Escondido Canyon Road were temporarily closed.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
