Orange County, California (November 16, 2020) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon at an intersection in Orange County, according to authorities.

The deadly bicycle accident, which was reported at around 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, happened at the intersection of Santiago Canyon and Modjeska Grade roads.

Authorities said a woman was riding her bicycle at the Orange County intersection when she was hit by a passenger vehicle.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the woman suffering from unspecified injuries as a result of the crash. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

The name of the deceased woman was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
