3 Killed and 2 Injured in Gridley Car Crash on Highway 99 near Hinamin Drive

Butte County, California (November 14, 2020) – At least three people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision that happened in Gridley, Butte County, on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 12:40 a.m. on Highway 99 near Hinamin Drive.
Five big rigs and five passenger vehicles were involved in the accident. The authorities did not immediately establish the events leading up to the collision.
Three people were killed in the accident.
Two victims were hospitalized with one suspected to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
A section of Highway 99 between Biggs East Highway and Ord Ranch Road was temporarily closed.
Crews with the Chico CHP, Yuba-Sutter CHP, Gridley Police Department, Butte County Sheriff’s Department, CAL FIRE and Caltrans responded to the incident.
The CHP’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the accident.
