84-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Santa Clara Accident on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard

Santa Clara, California (November 7, 2020) – An 84-year-old woman was killed in a bicycle accident on Thursday afternoon in Santa Clara, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened just before 2:00 p.m., on November 5, on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard.
According to the police, the 84-year-old female bicyclist was riding westbound in the eastbound lanes of El Camino Real when she collided with a red 2010 Ford Ranger turning onto the roadway from an adjacent parking lot.

The 84-year-old woman sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
