Santa Barbara County, CA: Fatal Car Crash on Highway 101 near El Capitan State Beach
1 Killed in Santa Barbara County Accident on Highway 101 at El Capitan Ranch Road
Santa Barbara County, California (November 6, 2020) – One person was killed Friday night in a traffic accident on Highway 101 near El Capitan State Beach in Santa Barbara County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash occurred at about 7:51 p.m. on the northbound side of Highway 101 at El Capitan Ranch Road, the CHP said.
A vehicle was reportedly traveling in the northbound lane of Highway 101 when it swerved violently on the highway to avoid hitting an object.
One person died in the accident. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.
The No. 1 lane of Highway 101 was shut down for the investigation.
