61-Year-Old Woman Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Crash at Seventh Street and Cherry Avenue

Long Beach, California (October 31, 2020) – A 61-year-old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck on Friday afternoon in Long Beach, authorities said.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 2:40 p.m., on October 30, at the intersection of Seventh Street and Cherry Avenue.
According to the police, a 2017 BMW driven by a 38-year-old Long Beach resident crashed into a 2000 GMC driven by a 69-year-old Fontana resident.
As a result of the collision, the GMC lost control and struck the 61-year-old woman who was sitting on the bus bench, the officials said.

Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
