28-Year-Old Darlene Delgadillo Arrested after Hawthorne Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash at Rosecrans and Doty Avenues

Hawthorne, California (October 17, 2020) – Police have arrested the hit-and-run Gardena woman who struck and critically hurt a bicyclist at an intersection in Hawthorne on October 2.
The major injury bicycle collision took place at Rosecrans and Doty Avenues at approximately 7:30 a.m.
The accident happened when a Toyota sedan driven by 28-year-old Darlene Delgadillo, at a high rate of speed, on Rosecrans Avenue ran a red light at the intersection for unknown reasons.
Delgadillo then struck a 15-year-old boy, who was riding his bicycle, in a marked crosswalk.
The boy was reportedly ejected from the bike upon the impact.
Delgadillo did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

Meanwhile, the bicyclist sustained a major head injury, a broken leg and arm, and fractured feet following the mishap.
Paramedics rushed the patient to an area hospital for further medication.
Delgadillo was later arrested from her home and booked into custody on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injuries.
