Irwindale, California (October 9, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident on Friday afternoon in Irwindale, authorities said.

The deadly accident transpired at about 2:40 p.m. on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway.

According to California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist collided with a vehicle on the freeway in unclear circumstances.

Sadly, the rider sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

A big rig pulled over to the side of the freeway near the collision, the CHP said.

Witnesses at the scene reported conflicting information to the officials. One caller said a big rig struck the rider, and another said the motorcyclist was hit by a white Tesla.

The roadway was closed due to the accident, and as of 6:10 p.m., the freeway was fully reopened.

An investigation into the collision is underway.
