54-Year-Old Woman Killed in Cardiff by the Sea Pedestrian Accident at South Coast Highway 101 and Cardiff State Beach
Cardiff by the Sea, California (September 30, 2020) – A 54-year-old transient woman was struck and killed by a vehicle earlier this month in Cardiff by the Sea, according to a press release from the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deadly pedestrian accident took place at around 7:59 p.m. Saturday, September 12 at the intersection of South Coast Highway 101 and Cardiff State Beach.
As per the release, the woman was trying to walk across the intersection of South Pacific Highway 101 and Cardiff Beach when she was hit by a vehicle that was heading northbound on Highway 101.

First responders arrived at the scene and found the woman unresponsive. She was then taken to Scrips Memorial Hospital-La Jolla, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The name of the woman has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The San Diego Sheriff is investigating the accident.
